You step outside with a sigh, a little puff forming in the cool air.  With your books held tightly in one arm and a juice box in the opposite hand, you began to head out.  You weren't exactly a morning person, but you always got up pretty early.  It wasn't like you needed the time to get to school, you actually lived really close to the place, but you always made a few stops on the way there and you often lost track of time.  Better safe than sorry, right?

Today, however, would be different.  It started in the most cliche way imaginable.  Now you were just walking along, minding your own business.  You had just finished your juice, and had thrown away the little container.

You pulled your sweater closer and readjusted your bag, quietly cursing the weather as well as the person who decided that girls had to wear skirts during the cold seasons.  Who cared if you looked cute?  You were freezing!  You looked at the sky, watching the little wisps of clouds pass by.  The sun was rising, giving the whole landscape a nice, pink-ish hue.  You calmed down just a bit; you've always had a soft spot for nature.

It may not have been your fault, but if you had taken the time to notice the sound of pedals or even the sound of a boy practically squawking, you wouldn't have almost died.

As you turned a corner, you had to jump right back.  A boy, obviously from Karasuno, was zooming past you on his bike.  It seemed to startle both of you though.  You, because he was right there next to you in a second, and him, because he wasn't used to seeing others on this trail.  You stumbled a bit as he passed, losing your balance and landing right in the dew-covered grass.

The boy wasn't knocked off balance too much, but his stop could've been more elegant.  He came to a halt a few meters ahead of you, and hopped right off of his bicycle.  He panicked just a bit waving his arms as he walked over.  "I'm so sorry!"

You sighed once again, brushing yourself off and getting up.  You looked behind you, not that surprised to see half of your skirt wet.  You'll need to change after this. "No no! Don't worry, I wasn't paying attention." Well, neither was he. You thought quietly. Honestly, you were too tired to be angry, and the boy was kind of cute, being so concerned and all. It wasn't that big of a deal. "Are you in a rush or something?  You were going pretty fast there."

The boy gave a sheepish grin, bowing slightly.  "Uh, kind of?  But I really shouldn't have been going that fast!  Sorry again!"  He rushes back to his bike, hopping on.  "And sorry for having to leave on such short notice; I've got morning practice to go to!  You go to Karasuno yeah?  If I see you there I'll definitely make this up to you, um...?"

You give a sheepish nod, moving you bag back to it's original place. "[ Last ] [ First ]."

"Hinata Shouyou!  Nice to meet you and er, sorry for knocking you over! I owe you one!"  With that, the boy waves and speeds off.  He's probably going just as fast as he was before, which makes you sigh; like that's going to help prevent this from happening again.  You watch the Hinata, his orange hair a dead giveaway to his location, until he turns a corner and disappears from your line of vision.  With another exhausted sigh, you turn on your heel to head back to your house.  You made sure to move your bag to cover up the back of your wet skirt, taking note of how much colder it was now.

Surprisingly, your day wasn't that bad after that.  You'd usually expect a day that started out embarrassing and frustrating to stay embarrassing and frustrating.  Still, today was just... slow, and normal.  After you had changed your skirt and got to school, you day played out the same as usual.  You switched your shoes out, you sat through class, you went to your club after classes.  By the time you got home, you had forgotten all about the Hinata incident.

That didn't mean that Hinata would forget about it, though.  The very next morning, you left for school at the same time as before.  Same cold weather, same silent complaints at said weather, same sunrise.  You weren't that distracted today, just a little sleepy.  So when the ginger rode up to you and called out your name, it took you a second to do anything about it.

"[ Last ]-san!" Hinata beamed, pedaling over to ride next to your slightly hunched form.  You glance over and give him a nod. Wait, what was his name again??  You pondered for a second before speaking. "Morning, Hinata-kun."  You pursed your lips, hoping you got it right.  Aaaand he was laughing, great.  You tense up.  What if he's laughing at you?? Did you get it wrong?  You're about to squeak out an apology, but he speaks up.

"Morning!  So again, sorry about yesterday.  But hey, I'll be seeing you around here just about every morning so I've got just about all the time in the world to make it up to you.  Oh! Unless you'd rather have me fix this quickly.  I would too, I mean, I don't want to be on bad terms with you."  As he speaks, you relax.  So you got it right? So he must just laugh a lot?  You should've figured; he seemed like the type.  In a jittery manner, you nod in agreement.

"Don't worry too much about it; it was just an accident.  Besides, I don't really feel like you need to make up for it.  But if you insist on it, don't do anything too big please??"  Wow, just wow.  You weren't one to turn down a gift or peace offering or whatever this was, but you felt a bit weird getting something from someone you barely knew.  Not to mention, you'd feel bad if he actually did something that was just, ridiculous.  You wouldn't lie, he seemed like the type that would throw huge surprise parties, or overdo the decorations on holidays, or put so many pictures and colors on a school project that it made it incomprehensible.  You took slightly bigger steps, trying to keep up with him.  He didn't even notice he was slowly speeding up, or were you just out of shape?  Either way, he noticed you struggle to keep up, and took a second to let you catch up.

"Hey, why do you always walk to school?  I mean that's totally cool and all, and your house is pretty close right??  But riding a bike is a lot easier!  Why do you get up this early, too?  Oooh! Are you in a sports club? Do you have morning practice too??"  Hinata asked a lot of questions, didn't he?  How did he even come to that conclusion?  Your face flushed a bit, and you gave a sheepish head shake.

"Er, well, no, not any sports clubs."  You fiddled your thumbs, trying to remember all of his questions.  "I just sorta get up early.  I don't normally go straight to school, sometime I'll go buy something or hang out at the park.  But no sports, no practices.  I just wake up early."  You paused, thinking of the first questions.  "And I just like walking, I've walked to school all the time and well, er..." You mumble the last part.  Looking at your feet as you walked alongside Hinata.  Of course, the excitable boy would be curious about your reply.  He urged you to continue. "Hm?? Well what?"

You looked straight ahead now.  "I don't know how to ride a bike."  When you speak, it's a bit rushed, and you're surprised he understood what you said.  You tried acting casual about it, despite your flushed cheeks and tense shoulders.  Hinata honestly looked a little shocked, but that didn't keep the smile from tugging at his lips.  Proudly, he blurted.  "I could teach you!"

This only made your cheeks heat up even more. Seriously?? You thought, It was only a day ago that I was practically ran over by a bike and you want me to be taught how to ride one? You squeaked.  "No it's fine!  I have no interest in learning!  It's been this many years already so why bother right?" You gave a sheepish laugh, trying to reassure him that it really wasn't necessary.  Hinata persisted though, having to resist the urge to flail his arms a bit as he spoke.  Even he knew it wouldn't be that persuasive if her maybe future bike riding instructor fell off of his own bike in such a silly way.

"Oh c'mon!  It's never too late to learn! This could be a good way to like, bond and stuff, and it could be a way for me to make things up to you. It's a win-win situation!"  Hinata urged on. You glanced up at him, giving a sigh.  Maybe... Maybe it'd be okay?  Yeah, it won't hurt to try.

"Fine, fine," You sigh, ruffling your hair a bit. "If it won't trouble you, then sure, knock yourself out."  Hinata shouts triumphantly at the response. "Yes!! Okay cool!  Wait okay let's see, what class are you in?  What time is good for you anyway??  I have practice mornings and after school so maybe sometime after dinnertime? Or a weekend? We'll figure this out later.  Anyways!"  He speeds up on his bike, almost showing off.  With a wave and a grin, he heads off. "I'm kinda running late, so I'll see you later!"

He left you again, but this time you were whole different kind of embarrassed.
